Switching to Bamboo Toothbrushes is a fantastic way to start your plastic free journey and with these kid's versions, your children can start while they're young! Hydrophil are a brilliant eco-friendly choice of brand, with their sustainable products.

By switching to bamboo toothbrushes you could be saving thousands of plastic toothbrushes from littering our environment and entering our oceans. Every plastic toothbrush that you've used so far is still out there on this planet which seems insane - swapping to bamboo will massively reduce your plastic footprint!

These bamboo toothbrushes are coloured so no mixing up who's is who's! This kid's style comes in 2 options: red and blue. With soft bristles they will brush little teeth effectively whilst protecting their gums.

They not only look good but do good - Hydrophil (from "hydrophilic" which literally means "water loving"), the company are passionate about making sure their products are water neutral, vegan and fairly traded - meaning that both planet and people are protected.

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The handle is made from fast growing bamboo which doesn't require artificial irrigation, and neither chemicals nor pesticides are used in its cultivation.
  • The handle is 100% biodegradable.
  • The bio-based bristles are made from castor oil, and are free from BPA and petroleum - they are the most environmentally friendly option currently available.
  • Any dyes used are non toxic, plant-based inks which won't contaminate waterways when the handle decomposes
  • Packaged in a recycled cardboard box
  • Water-neutral
  • Vegan
  • Fairtrade

As with any toothbrush it is recommended to replace after max 3 months and after illness.

Please note: Whilst the new bristles are made from the most environmentally friendly material that is currently available, they are unfortunately not compostable under normal household conditions. We therefore still recommend that the handle be composted and the bristles be disposed of separately (kerbside recycling or household waste)

  • USE & CARE

Disposing of your toothbrush: The Hydrophil Toothbrush handle can be disposed of safely by returning it to earth in compost or landfill. The bamboo handle will biodegrade into soil without pollution. We suggest removing the bristles as these are currently not compostable under normal household conditions. It is recommended you change your toothbrush at least every three months.

  • MORE INFORMATION

    Hydrophil

Hydrophil launched in 2013 and are dedicated to reducing water consumption and pollution. They are a market leader in sustainable dental hygiene and bamboo toothbrushes and commit to creating products that are water neutral, vegan & fair.

    Water neutral

Most importantly, Hydrophil conserves water when making their products. Similarly, the natural raw materials and ingredients used
by them grow without almost any artificial irrigation. In addition they do not pollute drinking or ground water.

    Vegan

“We want to positively influence our world through our actions. That is why our products do not contain any animal-based ingredients. And of course, we do not carry out or commission animal testing.”

    Fair

“Fair work deserves fair payment - therefore all our products are produced according to fair principles. To ensure this, we personally monitor our value chain down to the smallest detail.”

On a planet where two thirds is of the surface is covered with water, only 3% of this is fresh water and therefore drinkable. As a resource it is therefore very limited - the consequences of this scarcity are as fatal as they are unbelievable: 2.1 billion of our fellow human beings worldwide have no access to clean drinking water. Facts like these prompted them to pay special attention to the issue of water scarcity.

10% of their profits are donated to the non-profit association Viva con Agua, which is committed to providing access to clean drinking water for people in countries of the global South.
