our story

Dan & Laura

We founded the Larder from a shared love of the environment and a growing frustration at the lack of sustainable household options available locally. Cloth nappies with our firstborn was the first step on our sustainable journey, but even with making much more conscious choices it still felt like there was so much more we could do. Refill shops were beginning to pop up in various other cities and we wished Northern Ireland had one - so we decided to do something about it!

We are all about making it easy to embrace a low impact, more earth friendly lifestyle. From simple everyday eco-friendly swaps to refilling your favourite products over and over again, we believe that making sustainable choices shouldn't mean having to compromise on quality or functionality.

We love to support small business, local makers and producers. We believe the products we use in our day to day lives should not be harmful to the environment or to our bodies. Nor should the packaging they come in. And we believe that our beautiful planet and fellow human beings should not be exploited in the process.

We truly believe that when lots of people make small, habitual changes and considered, deliberate choices with the environment in mind, it will ripple out to friends, family and community, creating a huge positive impact.

Come join us on this quest!

Local Producers

Supporting local producers and businesses is close to our hearts, which is why you will find lots of your local favourites in our store - from Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil, SUKI Tea Makers, White Star Coffee roasters, to Refuge hot chocolate and Taste Joy Peanut Butter. We also bring in seasonal organic veg boxes from Vance's Organic Farm.
